Pre-Construction
Evaluate system requirements. Estimate alternatives. Adhere to budgetary constraints.
Temp-Con’s entire pre-construction team (two licensed professional engineers and an additional three mechanical engineers in-house) works with the construction and engineering teams throughout the remaining pre-construction/construction process, evaluating all system concepts, presenting value engineering alternatives, and developing cost analysis. The selection of system alternatives will incorporate long-lead considerations, constructability issues, manpower allocations, and overall project scheduling.
This process assures that the project will have an optimal mechanical installation.
Maintaining Conceptual Estimates
Our in−house engineering department will provide a gap analysis, completing the drawings for our estimating group to provide budgets for each project milestone. Once the drawings are complete, we do a complete take-off of all ductwork or piping shown and reach out to our vendors for complete proposals.
Design-Assist Role
Temp-Con understands the dynamic nature of the design process on a project of this magnitude. The design phase consists of the engineers laying out the MEP systems and calculating the sizes needed for each specific system. Temp-Con fills the gaps and reaches out to the market for updated pricing. All the while, Temp-Con is re-evaluating our approach for the best solution.
Schedule & Constructability Review
Coordinating from day one, the Temp-Con team reviews designs with our BIM team as well as superintendents/foreman to address feasibility/experience concerns. Once we understand our approach, we re-evaluate our goal mapping, mitigate risks, and compare this with the up-to-date construction schedule, immediately identifying any impacts.
